Bonner Service Saturdays

The Bonner Leader Program not only volunteers in the community but encourages fellow students to become involved as well! Throughout the semester, Bonner leaders take charge and lead volunteer events. They are in contact with the community partner and help guide the other student volunteers at the event.

The first two Service Saturdays of the fall 2022 semester have already concluded. The first occurred in August with students assisting the Slippery Rock Area Parks and Recreation in cleaning up two community parks. The second event was in early October. Students were involved in the Butler Area Public Library's "Something to Crow About" Family Fall Festival by helping with food, games and more!

To engage in the student body and the surrounding community, the Bonner Leader Program works in conjunction with community partners and groups within Slippery Rock University such as the Honors College. Through Service Saturdays, mutually beneficial relationships are created for students and community members alike.

Keep up with Service Saturdays on our social media to see what the Bonners and student volunteers are doing in the community!
